What Can Afghanistan and Pakistan Teach Us About Nonviolence? – I may soon have an opportunity to meet with nonviolent activists in Afghanistan, an area of the world we falsely imagine has earned the name “graveyard of empires” purely through violent resistance. I was educated in the United States and learned in some detail about the lives of several morally repulsive halfwits who happened to have “served” in various U.S. wars, assaults, and genocides. But I was never even taught the name Badshah Khan. Were you?. Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, 1890-1988, was given the honorary title Badshah by the people of what was then the northwest frontier of India, much as his friend and ally further south, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, was given the title Mahatma. Khan was a Pashtun, or Pathan, as are many members of the Taliban today. The imperial occupier 100 years ago was not the United States, but the British empire, and Khan raised a 100,000-strong unarmed, but uniformed and disciplined, nonviolent army to face down a vicious all-out violent assault in an isolated territory, with communication to the outside world cut off. The nonviolent Pashtun became more feared by the British than the violent. The local people became more independent, self-sustaining, and prosperous. And they understood nonviolence to be the weapon of the strong.

The scandal of seizures by social workers of children from responsible parents is bigger than the Children’s Minister has stated, says Christopher Booker. – Of all the ways in which Britain’s supposed child protection system has, all too often, gone horribly off the rails, one of the most disturbing is the readiness of many social workers to lie and to fabricate evidence, in order to justify their seizure of children from loving and responsible parents. As is shown by many of the dozens of such cases I have followed in detail, once social workers have targeted a particular family they may well stop at nothing to make their case stick, ready to cover up some initial error simply by bringing up new accusations against the parents, however improbable.
What They’re Covering Up at Fukushima – Hirose Takashi has written a whole shelf full of books, mostly on the nuclear power industry and the military-industrial complex. Probably his best known book is Nuclear Power Plants for Tokyo in which he took the logic of the nuke promoters to its logical conclusion: if you are so sure that they’re safe, why not build them in the center of the city, instead of hundreds of miles away where you lose half the electricity in the wires?.
America’s First Black President Invades Africa – Over the objection of the African Union, US attacks Libya NEW YORK – In a move reminiscent of Senator Mike Mansfield’s observation that “Only a Nixon could go to China,” President Barack Obama has begun a military invasion of Africa.
For those unaware, Libya is in Africa.
24 March 1999: Remembering the NATO led War on Yugoslavia: Kosovo “Freedom Fighters” Financed by Organized Crime – Twelve years ago, March 24th 1999, marks the commencement of NATO’s aerial bombardment of Yugoslavia. The bombings which lasted for almost three months, were followed by the military invasion (under a bogus UN mandate) and illegal occupation of the province of Kosovo. In the course of the last week, the so-called international community, backed by the UN Security Council has called for the bombing of Libya, a sovereign country, allegedly to protect the lives of civilians under the logo of “Responsibility to Protect”.
Naming Names: Your Real Government – This is your real government; they transcend elected administrations, they permeate every political party, and they are responsible for nearly every aspect of the average American and European’s way of life. When the “left” is carrying the torch for two “Neo-Con” wars, starting yet another based on the same lies, peddled by the same media outlets that told of Iraqi WMD’s, the world has no choice, beyond profound cognitive dissonance, but to realize something is wrong.
US Following Oil Drug Cartels – The silence of Russia and China to U.S. belligerence across the world spectrum with $trillion dollar wars confiscating and theft of natural resources signals a collusion of interested government apparatus in war against humanity for greed.
The 1st Great War of 21st Century Has Begun! – KINGSTON, NY — It is a bad science fiction movie written by mad political scientists. Exactly eight years to the day that President George W. Your 2011 Census will help Big Business make money – A very interesting email came our way today that included a press release from the Office of National Statistics talking about why babies will be included in the 2011 Census… whatever on that front… The interesting part was at the bottom where the ONS are promoting the reasons why people should fill out the Census. The following two points are gold dust, we just can’t make this stuff up: Supermarkets, such as Sainsbury’s, use census data to help plan what food to stock; Banks, such as Barclays, and other commercial businesses use census data to help locate their businesses in appropriate places.
Fukushima Coverup, 40 Years of Spent Nuclear Rods Blown Sky High – In addition to under reporting the fires at Fukushima, the Japanese government has not told the people about the ominous fact that the nuclear plant site is a hellish repository where a staggering number of spent fuel rods have accumulated for 40 years.
ULTRA-ORTHODOX, HAGEE, ABET VIOLENCE IN PALESTINE – As the world empathizes with Japan for its massive loss of life, it remains appropriate to remember the tragedy visited on Palestinians over the past 60 years. This has not been an act of nature but a catastrophe engineered by misguided Christian evangelicals and Zionist oppressors.

You can shout about it, wave a placard or burn the damn form in the middle of London, but now is the time join the right side of humanity!
The utility of a central bank – The other night at a dinner I was expounding my take on the Western monetary system to some European diplomats when one of them in polite disbelief remarked that my position is demonstrably wrong because national central banks in Europe are non profit entities. Which gave me food for thought. My counter question then was: if CBs are non profit entities why do they charge interest on the money that is created on behalf of the treasury?
Neglecting public opinion is privilege of the West – London is bracing itself for a wave of public anger this weekend as protesters are planning to take to the streets to demonstrate against the West’s military intervention in Libya. What many of those who will march seem to particularly object to is Western governments’ habit of lashing out at other countries for not listening to their people, while blithely ignoring public opinion on their own doorsteps.
Digital Economy Act: ‘rushed’ anti-piracy laws delayed until 2012 – The already-delayed Digital Economy Act (DEA) will be challenged by BT and TalkTalk on Wednesday in a judicial review. Run-Rated Fukushima Radiation Release On Par With, And In Some Cases Greater Than, Chernobyl – Even as the spin continues by both the media and nuclear energy advocates that the dangers from Fukushima are overblown, calculations done behind the scenes indicate that Fukushima and Chernobyl are actually very comparable in terms of radioactive particulate release, and in some cases, such as Cesium 137, Fukushima is already runrating as a worse catastrophe than Chernobyl. From Reuters: “The release of two types of radioactive particles in the first 3-4 days of Japan’s nuclear crisis is estimated to have reached 20-50 percent of the amounts from Chernobyl in 10 days, an Austrian expert said on Wednesday. Based on measurements made at monitoring stations in Japan and the United States, Wotawa said the iodine released from Fukushima in the first three-four days was about 20 percent of that released from Chernobyl during a ten-day period. For Caesium-137, the figure could amount to some 50 percent.” In other words, run rating the release of Cesium for a 10 day period, leaked radioactive Cesium is now about 120-150% of what it was during the full blow reactor explosion experiencing during Chernobyl. But yes, aside from the facts, watering the reactor that are certainly melting down (if haven’t done so already) should surely have great benefits.

Corporations Contaminating Agriculture – ‘A problem arises as a result of family farmers and ranchers not having the bags of cash needed to dump into USDA and FDA to buy access as the bio-pirates do. ” While Homeland Security continues to claim that we must not centralize agricultural production because some terrorist might then poison vast quantities of our food supply, the USDA and FDA continue to rig the system in favor of corporate agricultural producers who are doing that very thing. Maybe they get away with this because what these global corporations are producing can’t really be classified as food, or at least not as food we would recognize as fit for human consumption.

Quote Bloomberg: “One of the reactors in the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant may have been relying on flawed steel to hold the radiation in its core, according to an engineer who helped build its containment vessel four decades ago. The protests began March 15, when more than 10,000 people gathered in Gaza and several thousand, in the West Bank in a coordinated effort to demand reconciliation between the Fatah party, which governs the West Bank, and Hamas, which controls Gaza. The two sides broke in June 2007 after Hamas violently seized control of Gaza and routed Fatah forces.
26th March, Census Rebellion, 1pm North Side of Trafalgar Square. You Will See Us with Megaphones! Follow the Census Rebellion Flyers if You Can’t Find Us! - ‘The day before the Census is due, you are due in Central London. We hope for sun and we will congregate in what could be the biggest protest this country has ever seen. 2011 is the year of the people’s uprising, and this is entirely about total resistance. You refuse to deal any information or energy to a group of criminals who have sacrificed humanity at greed’s altar. The Census could very well be used in peace time, when benevolence ruled the waves, but not by this lot. If their leadership has fallen short, then so does our support. It goes even more deeply than this. Ultimately, in this age of awakening, it’s the people who demand information from the state.’
Getting of the Grid and Reasons to get of the Grid –(Getting of the grid is a term meaning to be totally self sufficient, not relying on the government or supermarkets to feed you, also includes becoming energy self sufficient and not relying again on anyone else, as a safety precaution against tyranny.)–
Sprouts: An Ideal Emergency Preparedness Food – (NaturalNews) Given the rapidity with which critical global events are unfolding, preparedness just makes good sense. The question isn’t whether or not to be prepared – it’s what to be prepared for? Earthquakes, nuclear accidents, tsunamis, power outages and gasoline shortages have been on this week’s menu. Each, of course, has its own specific type of preparedness protocols. But, no matter what kind of unexpected event looms large, there is always a need for food. Food shortages could result from any of the aforementioned potential scenarios, as well as from any number of scenarios that I haven’t mentioned. There are any number of ways to approach food shortage preparedness, but my preferred method is sprouts! Sprouts are, in my mind, the number one, perfect survival ration. I think that sprouting seeds belong in every household’s emergency kit. Let’s look at some of the reasons that I think this.
India Says Monsanto Covertly, Illegally Conducted GM Corn Trials Without Approval – (NaturalNews) Recent reports out of India say that multinational biotechnology giant Monsanto has once against skirted the law by clandestinely planting its genetically-modified (GM) corn without receiving approval to do so. Nitish Kumar, chief minister of the Indian state of Bihar, recently wrote a letter to India’s environment minister Jairam Ramesh explaining the situation. Just days earlier, Ramesh had denied Monsanto permission to plant the crops at all.
Mouse-Pig & Super-Fish Seek Approval for Human Consumption – Genetically mutated plants and animals always start out as some sort of trial – “Oh we would never allow this on the dinner plate,” is always the beginning line. Blink and you’ll miss the critters crawling onto the grocers’ shelves. Most of us are unaware of our consumption of GM vegetation. The push and final release of GM salmon will be the precedent that allows Enviropig on the market. The supposed intention behind Enviropig is the environment, but that’s a giant load of steaming hog manure, otherwise the pigs themselves would be given better treatment and diets to lower phosphorous waste. Some speculate that the Corn Refiners Association is the influence behind the pigs’ mostly corn-fed diet that attributes to the highly phosphorous poo. Instead of different food and free range, the answer is to create labs, hire scientists, and mix them with mice?
